1. Parent teacher organizations exist to help connect parents with teachers and to advocate for the needs of students.
2. The Chamber of Commerce serves as a relationship-builder and advocate for the local business community by developing programs and initiatives, providing resources and support and working to attract new businesses as well as to help grow existing businesses.

A) Portage Park Mutual Aid is a group of neighbors helping neighbors with supplies and services
B) Portage Park community news is a group that shares news regarding upcoming events, politics, garage sales, lost pets, etc.
C) Portage Park - Jefferson Park - Northside moms is a group of moms who arrange play dates, outings and local events
D) Portage Park Neighborhood Watch is a group of concerned neighbors who privately communicate neighborhood issues and keep in contact
E) Portage Park Mamas is a group for women with children age 0-18 who live in the community.
F) Portage Park Parkside Ave 4000 block is a private group for this specific neighborhood
G) Portage Park Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a group of neighbors helping their fellow neighbors by clearing snow, helping to find lost pets, and to meet newcomers to the neighborhood.
4. The Alderman's office is promoting a campaign strategy. We will update you as things progress or if events are planned. One promotion that might benefit the community:
The Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP) offers workshops every Wednesday and Friday.
All workshops are free, and open to the public. Workshops are held at BACP's offices located in Room 805 and Room 1103 at City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL 60602.

5. The Chicago Park District is promoting the following venues:
A) Portage park nature garden is an enclosed garden featuring native plants and trees within Portage Park. Its benches provide good resting spots and gravel paths which make it easy to navigate.
B) The Portage Park senior center offers an outdoor pool and summer camp for 6-weeks.
The center offers the following venues: sports, arts, fitness, and outdoor activities with the following ideas woven throughout the camp experience.
